Tributaries
Often known in other guilds as “Bees”, Tributaries are small groups meeting regularly for members to share their love of quilting. Meetings are casual and always open to visitors and/or new members. All offer plenty of free advice. Sometimes it is even about quilting!
Following is a summary of the current Tributaries.
Art Quilt Group
Meets: 2nd Saturday, every OTHER month (Jan-Mar-May-July-Sept-Nov)
Time: 10am - 12noon
Location: Shreveport Regional Arts Council, 801 Crockett St, Shreveport

Location and dates are subject to change; email reminders are sent before every meeting. Focus is on art and modern quilting, surface design and embellishment and mixed media art. The group also often conducts art quilt challenges.
Haughton Quilters
Meets: 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of Each Month
Time: 9:00am - Mid-afternoon
Location: Southern Methodist Church, Highway 80, Haughton

Pack a lunch and prepare to laugh! The Haughton Quilters usually work on individual projects (both by hand and machine) but sometimes tackle a common pattern. There are also 3-day “sew-ins” twice a year at the church.

Nimble Thimble
Meets: Each Tuesday

Nimble Thimble quilters gather to encourage, share and teach as each works on individual projects. Bring your machine or handwork and join us. Summers often find the quilters teaching a class to children, 10+.
Quilt Queens
Meets: Every Wednesday
Time: 10am - 3pm

Quilt Queens is a fun and loyal group who enjoy sharing their love of quilting. The group works on Love Wrappers, Block of the Month and special projects. They enjoy taking road trips and are a diverse group with many talents.
Sew n Sews
Meets: The Monday Following Guild Meeting (Second Monday of the Month)
Time: 1pm
Location: Shreveport Sewing Center, 645 W Bert Kouns, Shreveport

This group meets monthly to work on a year-long quilt project of a quilt pattern of our choosing. Quilts may be completed with monthly “steps” or at each individual’s own pace. Members meet each month to encourage & admire each other’s progress in Show & Tell.
Sunday Strippers
Meets: 3rd Sunday of Each Month
Time: Noon - Mid-afternoon
Location: Member’s Homes

The interests of this group include quilting, knitting, beading and garment making. Members enjoy a hostess-prepared lunch as they share and discuss their latest projects (both for hurrahs and helpful hints). Note: Please contact Mary if you’d like to attend as the meeting location changes each month.
Thread Benders
Meets: Every Wednesday
Time: 9am - Early Afternoon
Location: Haynes Ave. Baptist Church, 601 Haynes Ave. Shreveport

Join the chatter around the table! Everyone brings their individual projects to work on (both by hand and machine) as well as a lunch to enjoy in each other’s company. Support and encouragement is sweetened with homemade dessert!
