Quilt Show 2024

Roaring Twenties: Second Time Around

Theme and Challenge

The theme of this year’s show is Roaring Twenties: Second Time Around. The Roaring Twenties from 100 years ago was a time of excitement, change, and prosperity. After being shut down for two years from a worldwide pandemic, we are finally beginning to come alive again in the new Twenties, 2024, to enjoy renewed life. Just like in the old Twenties, in the new Twenties we celebrate the hope of a prosperous future, exciting changes, and a future decorated with beautiful quilts!

The Quilt Show Challenge is Second Time Around. Entries will up-cycle one or more items into a quilt. This could be fabric, parts of an old quilt, linens, embroidery items, lace, clothing, or more. Then the entry will explain how this quilt gives these items new life.

Hoffman Challenge

We are excited to report that we have been selected to showcase a trunk from the 2022-2023 Hoffman Challenge. Participants were required to use a minimum of 5 out of 15 Batik fabrics from the Hoffman celebration fabrics in their artwork. The fabrics were to be used in the body of the quilt top or garment in recognizable, but not necessarily equal amounts. Participants could supplement with other fabrics from other manufacturers.

Entry categories included the following: Quilts, Clothing, Accessories, Youth Entries, and Best Use of Aurifil Thread.

Cash awards were awarded to participant winners. Our trunk will contain an assortment of winning projects. You can learn more at hoffmancaliforniafabrics.net.

Donation Quilt

The Donation Quilt is Moon Glow. This 86’’ by 86’’ quilt was designed by Jinny Beyer.

Tickets are $5.00. The estimated value of the quilt is $900. You may buy tickets from Red River Quilters members. You need not be present to win. The drawing will be September 14, 2024 at 3:30 at the end of the show.
